Manisha Earring — Czech
Intricately woven and colorful invoking thoughts of sultry nights on the subcontinent. At least that is what I was going for when I stitched these.
This piece is bright and classically simple in its color scheme. I begin with the top diamond shape using two colors of grey seed beads. I finish the last corner with an unusual Czech glass bead, in a transparent blue grey. Then I start on the bottom 3/4 circle with silver colored glass beads with Japanese drop beads stitched in the perimeter of the hoop, I attach it to the diamond and reinforce it all around.
VERY light weight for the size, after all is mostly glass and thread. 2.5 is inches from the top of the hook to the bottom and 1.5 across at the widest point. Sterling silver ear wires finish the look.
