Swarovski with Czech Drops — Shiny Blue
This is a popular piece at shows. It combines the look of natural stone but the comfortable weight of glass. First, I hand wrap the Czech glass teardrop. Then I begin stitchIng the case for the cushion cut Swarovski crystal. It’s called a netting stitch. I like this style of stitch because it holds the crystal in place but still allows for flashes of color and the back is just as pretty as the front. It feels like metal filigree but, again, without the weight. Antique brass backs keep the earring securely in place once you have it on.
The drop is 1.5 inches with the finished earring measuring 2 inches.
