Royal Inspiration

I was always an early bird.  I would get up before anyone else and turn on the TV.  Frequently in those precable day, there was nothing on.  One morning, when I was 7, I stumbled across a lavish wedding.  It was amazing!  When I asked my mom, she replied, "It's a princess's wedding."  I know now that it was Princess Anne's first wedding.  However, my real royal obsession began, like so many, when Princess Diana came onto the scene.   The British Royal Family is still my favorite, but advent of the internet means that I can follow so much more and so many different aspects of royal lives, particularly their jewels.

My favorite online resource for royal jewels is The Court Jeweller.  I follow their page on Facebook, Instagram and Twittter.  Last month they shared a picture of Queen Maxima of the Netherlands.  The post was about the lovely pearl pin she was wearing, but what I noticed was an especially lovely pearl bracelet she was wearing.  My first thought was "I can make that!"  This isn't the first time that I have been inspired by royal jewels, but it's the most recent.   I can't wait to see what comes next.
The first picture is of an incomplete bracelet but it allows you to see the base of right angle weave seed beads. I stitch base first and then add the Swarovski pearls in 4 different sizes.  The second two bracelets are complete.  I intentionally left a bit of the bracelet open on the brown piece.

I am a beadweaver by trade.  I am also a mom, a bead addict and a lover of all things royal.  This where those things intersect.  Thanks for sharing the journey with me.
